Din at the Descanso Garden

Christine and we all call her DIN! I've know her since..gosh...2001? Gheez I cannot recall. Din is a friend of my ex-roommate back at Art Center and that's how we came to know each other! We have rekindled our friendship since 4 years ago when I came back to Los Angeles. There's just so much distance in LA which makes it really hard to keep up friendship. When I lived in Pasadena we would see each other couple of times a year. Now we really got to try harder since I live so far away! It took a whole lot of convincing to have Din model for me, she just does not believe how beautiful she is! Or she just does not believe in my skills...yet.. We decided to go to the Descanso Garden in La Canada, though a little disappointed...not much flowers are blooming during this time of the year. Fall is definitely kicking in!

By the entrance of the Brody House at the Descanso Garden.

Hair lights always add wonders!

We both agree the shot to the left is our favorite shot of the day!

Spiders, spiderweb, bugs everywhere!

This was right outside the Brody House at the very top of the garden. The house is so cute!

Nice pose girl!

Golden sunlight on a late Autumn afternoon.

The garden closes at 5pm, we took our last shots at the parking lot!

Simply beautiful!

Eloisa - an old friend from Art Center!

It's been almost a decade since Art Center days, and since I relocated back to Hong Kong right after graduation, I had not been able to keep in touch with my Art Center friends in the States, and that was before Facebook! After returning back here about 4 years ago, I was living in Pasadena and never thought I would move all the way out here in the Valley, because of Simon's job relocation. Never really felt at home here since we are really the only Asians on the block, Encino is pretty much an all Jewish, Israelis community! I do not have anything against that but just feel absolutely out of place! When we have just moved out here for a couple of months, one night we were shopping at Ralphs and ran right into Elosia?! And she lives just two blocks from our condo?! We met back at school, and were on the same team for this silly environmental design project. I always remembered Elosia taking me downtown for the project in her Dad's ultra cool red Mustang! I believe in fate..do you?! ;)  Thanks Elosia agreeing to model for me and being so patient under the intense heat!! As always I have so much fun taking photos though nervous since I never seem to get my skills down just yet...I guess that's what keeping me interested since it's very challenging!

Lovely window light and surprise splashes of colors in the background!

Loving her soft, natural body gesture!

Eloisa applied her own makeup, and I helped her a little with curling her hair!

Girly!

A self-proclaimed Topanga Cowboy walked up to us with this furry creature! I still am not sure whether his pet is a husky or a wolf? He said it's a wolf...Wait is it legal to keep a wolf as pet???

I'm all wolf...roarrrrrrrrrrt???

I love the splashes of hair lights!

We stomped over these very spiky grass to get to this spot under a big tree!

HOT!!

Eloisa has a closet of neatly lined up dresses! I'm glad we picked this one..it worked out great with the location!

We had a lot of good laughs trying to think of poses!

These pictures remind me of a warm fuzzy summer day...

By accident my lens created this huge lens flare! We ended our day exhausted but with loads of fun!
